We grew a lot at GROW

We finished our time at GROW this morning. It was an amazing time of fellowship and learning more about the ministry. The team arrived on Saturday and took a tour of the new boys’ dorm, had time to meet the kids and hear a ministry update from Fa.

Sunday was filled up with worship in the morning and fun games with the kids all afternoon. A long, family-style dinner with the kids who take a leadership role in GROW rounded out a full day.

Monday was the school-bus drop off (see previous post) and an evening filled with concerted prayer time with Fa and of hearing the testimony of students. The kids proudly wore their hill tribe finery. Each of the team shared what their time with GROW had meant to them and had time to individually encourage the kids.

On Tuesday, we said our goodbyes and then headed up to Abonzo Coffee to support a ministry lead by a man named Patrick whom we met years ago through Fa. He grew up in extreme poverty in the coffee (and opium poppy) region but escaped at a young age, became a pastor and then brought life back to the region by teaching the farmers fair trade practices. He now has a coffee shop, restaurant and hotel which was a perfect destination for an afternoon of team prayer, sharing about our experience, and a debrief before we go on to meet with the Safe House Group!
