Miracles come in many forms
At long last, after four years, we were able to see our Safe House family! During those four years, not only did Covid hit, but Myanmar experienced a military coup, which made visiting impossible. But, because God is so good, we (through generous donations by many!) were able to purchase a second safe house in Thailand, and miracle of miracles, our Safe House Family was able to legally leave Myanmar and move to the new safe house in Thailand.
It was the first time for many on the SEARCH (SE Asia Rescue Coalition and Haven) board to see the house in person. It was such a joyful (and often hilarious) time of sharing, as each one of the Safe House group shared with us what they loved about the house. Most involved water—clean water, hot water, easily available water—and the washer and dryer is a true delight. Irene, who does the laundry for everyone, said that she can’t help herself: she goes and watches the machine go round and round while it cleans and dries the clothes and then at the end, it gives a beep to say that it’s done. Miracles come in many forms.
Leik, the lead pastor said that she has been able to sleep through the night for the first time in the four years since the coup. She actually feels refreshed and healthy, which is such a blessing. We are looking forward to spending four wonderful days with our family here. Joy of joys!
