Our Daily Bread

It can be a daunting thing when you have the realization that God is calling you to do something very specific. In the case of the Safe House, the realization came in the form of a budget meeting. Last night, those of us on the Board sat down with Leik and Irene (the leaders of the Safe House) to go over the budget and the understanding that God is using us to provide the manna for them became perfectly clear.

Like God telling the Israelites to trust in Him and that He will provide for them every day, God made it clear that He is calling on the residents of the Safe House to have faith in Him. He will provide. And God at the same time is telling us, their Hillside family, that He is using us—his humble servants from across the world—to deliver the manna. He reminds us in Exodus 16:15 that He gave them bread out of heaven to eat.

It's big. It’s important. And he’s calling on us to do it. To provide for 34 of his living, breathing children.
