New Guitars and the Chicken Dance

It’s amazing to see how God uses us to answer the prayers of others. Here’s just one example of something that happened while we’ve been here:

As it turns out, the Safe House has one guitar and six people who play. Unbeknownst of that fact, one of our team members (weeks ago) decided to buy a guitar for the Safe House. When we told Leik about the gift, she was amazed. She told us that she had been praying for a second guitar! It’s incredible to see how God uses us, even if we may be across the world, to answer the prayers of others.

And separately (this was probably the opposite of an answered prayer!) but we had a hilarious time teaching the Safe House crew the chicken dance. None of us had done it for a long time and we forgot a key element or two, but we improvised and it was truly hilarious. We were laughing, they were laughing, and as we were driving away, they were all yelling “da da, da da, da da, da!”

Tomorrow is Sunday and we are looking forward to church with them! In the meantime, here’s a photo of the new and old guitars being put to good use!
